Why is bongal useful for me?

The great thing about bongal is that you can search for people based on what YOU are interested in. Let's give you some examples:

Example 1

Tom is in a band in Leeds. They need a bass guitarist. He goes to the bongal map and searches for people in Leeds who are interested in bass guitar. He clicks on MUSIC and BASS GUITAR. Instantly he now has a good chance of finding a bass guitarist.

Example 2

Gemma has just moved to London and loves R&B. Most of her friends like indie music which is really doesn't interest her. She clicks MUSIC and R&B, to her delight she has found loads of people who live near her who she can discuss the latest happenings on the R&B scene. Soon she is being advised the best clubs to visit and making friends along the way.

Example 3

Jo runs a web design company. He's made a group on other social networks but can only seem to invite his personal friends, which gives him limited exposure. He decided to make a group on bongal and tagged it to SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY and WEB DESIGN. Now everybody who is interested in web design will find his group. His group also gets suggested to everyone who has that particular interest, thus giving him the best possible audience - for FREE!

Example 4

Katie is really keen on Italian cooking. She lives in Cambridge but can't seem find any of her friends that share her enthusiasm. Since bongal knows Katie lives in Cambridge, she simply selects FOOD&DRINK and then ITALIAN. She is now presented with loads of people who share her passion. Without giving away personal information she can now exchange recipes, ideas tips and tricks for the perfect Italian feast.

Example 5

Simon is interested in Travel. He wants to talk to people about traveling to a Greek island this summer. He selects TRAVEL and then GREECE. Immediately he has found numerous people who are associated with Greek travel. He can chat to them and get some first-hand advice about hotels and hot spots from experienced travellers.

How do I go about building my own network?

Finding people who share your interests is quick and easy using the interactive bongal map.

Select - Location, Age, Gender, Relationship status and most importantly - your chosen interest into the search menu and instantly bongal will show you people matching your requirements.

For example you may want to find people in your local area interested in 'nightlife...' 'Ibiza Holidays' or you might want to talk to people who are interested in 'fashion modelling' or 'jewellery design.' The list is endless!

You can make the interest search as specific as you want - from those interested in food and drink in general, right down to just those with a passion for vegan food or Aga cooking.

You can also browse the bongal groups map. Join as many groups as you like to ask questions, share experiences and build friendships with other people who like the same things you do. And don't forget to start your own group if there isn't one out there for you yet!

If you tag your group to at least one interest zone we'll feature it in the 'group suggestions' page and promote it to other relevant users.
